Verbatim Response From what I have seen, Prosser provides a great deal of opportunities for students to be prepared to go into the workforce / higher education.
Solutions Already In Currently Indiana uses the TEACH grant funds to assist childcare centers, high school students, and early childhood
Place educators in funding their future education and certifications. This solutions seems to be implemented. The students in our high schools are loving Prosser and Ivy Tech early childhood education opportunities.
Solutions Do Not
I don ' t think scholarships are what is preventing people from getting credentials or degrees in this field- it ' s the low Address Pay Issue pay.
I can ' t imagine scholarships or apprenticeships for childcare workers would be successful. These fields are typically very low paying and aren ' t very attractive to workers. Perhaps if someone wanted to open their own childcare facility,
Solutions Not Valued but just to work in someone else ' s center would not make these very viable options. by Employers
Apprenticeship programs are not very valued in our areas. Take too long to get and many do not want to take the educational portion while working. Employers are not sold on apprenticeships.
Operational Barriers Building blocks doesn’ t hold a lot of the contracts to address this.
