WATERFRONT BOTANICAL GARDENS

Wandering through a magical scene among thousands of glittering lights , crafts for the kids and visiting with Santa and Mrs . Claus is what you can expect when visiting the Waterfront Botanical Gardens this December at Gardens Aglimmer .
The 3rd annual event has even more lights this year , with oversized illuminated flowers , a sparkling winter wonderland of swans , snowflakes and deer and a multicolor tunnel of lights . Children and adults alike will delight as they stroll along the Beargrass Creek Pathway under icicle arches , a waterfall stream aglow and take in wondrous views of lit Christmas trees inside the tall , glass windows of the Graesar Family Education Center .
A handmade , natural 12 ft . Christmas tree will also be on display inside the greenhouse of the Ellen T . Leslie Botanical Classrooms . A tree in the making since early Fall , ornamental features will include allium blooms and hand-dried apple and orange slices .
Gardens Aglimmer is a family-friendly event that features plenty of hands-on activities for kids . Among many crafts , kids can write and send letters to The North Pole , make snowflake wands and parents and children together can make handprint holly ornaments .
Hot beverages and cookies will be available for purchase from Khalil ’ s in the Jingle All the Way Cafe .
Tickets must be purchased in advance at www . waterfrontgardens . org for the 2021 Gardens Aglimmer dates , which are Dec . 2 , 3 , 4 , 9 , 10 , 11 , 16 , 17 , 18 , 19 , 20 , 21 , 22 , 23 , 26 , 27 , 28 , 29 and 30 .
Santa in his sleigh and Mrs . Claus in her cottage will make appearances at the Gardens Aglimmer evenings between 12 / 2 – 12 / 23 .
