ANNOUNCES $234,000
IN COMMUNITY GRANTS
The Community Foundation of Southern Indiana has awarded the final grants
for their fiscal year, awarding $234,655.00 to 50 local charitable organizations. The
grants were awarded from the foundation’s unrestricted Community Impact Fund
to deserving nonprofit organizations that address our region’s greatest needs and
positively impact the lives of people living in Clark and Floyd counties.
Linda Speed, president and CEO for the Community Foundation of Southern
Indian, said, “Thanks to the very generous supporters who have contributed to
our Community Impact Fund, we’re able to award these well-deserved grants
to organizations that are changing lives in Southern Indiana.”
Speed added: “We know how hard organizations throughout our community
work to address our region’s needs and are honored to support them as they
work to improve our quality of place.”
Since the Community Foundation of Southern Indiana was formed in 1991
as the region’s partner, resource and steward in philanthropy, it has awarded
nearly $30 million in grants and scholarships. The foundation manages
$116 million in charitable assets and administers over 240 individual
funds – each of which supports the unique charitable intent of the
donor who established the fund. Annually, the foundation awards
millions in grants and scholarships to support our community
and is a National Standards certified community foundation.
