THE HORSESHOE FOUNDATION of Floyd County awarded $397,566 in grants to 27
community organizations on June 28. The celebration was held at the Carnegie Center for
Art & History, 201 East Spring St. in New Albany
Grant recipients include: $17,192 to Actors Theatre of Louisville; $10,000 to American Red
Cross – Western Kentucky Chapter; $10,000 to Camp Quality Kentuckianal $4,088 to Cardinal
Ritter Birthplace Foundation; $24,216 to Center for Lay Ministries; $8,000 to Commonwealth
Theatre Center; $10,000 to Family Ark, Inc.; $19,675 to Floyd County Token Club; $10,000 to
Floyds Knobs Community Club; $15,000 to Friends of the Town Clock Church; $25,000 to
Fund for the Arts; $5,000 to Georgetown Elementary School;
$8,720 to Girl Scouts of Kentuckiana; $5,000 to Hazelwood Middle School; $8,100 to IUS
School of Business; $10,000 to Ivy Tech Foundation; $24,711 to LifeSpan Resources, Inc.;
$20,000 to Louisville Urban League; $25,000 to Maker Mobile Inc.; $25,000 to New Albany-
Floyd County Education Foundation; $17,000 to New Roots, Inc.; $15,000 to Scribner Middle
School; $11,114 to St. Mary of the Knobs Catholic School; $25,000 to St. Vincent de Paul of
OLPH; $12,500 to StageOne Family Theatres; and $17,250 to Volunteers of America Mid-States.
Horseshoe Foundation of Floyd County was established in 1999 to provide resources to
nonprofit organizations, educational institutions, and governmental agencies for the benefit
of residents in Floyd County. Since 1999, the Horseshoe Foundation of Floyd County has
awarded $44 million to benefit the citizens of Floyd County.
